Check it out!
I got a hair up my apron and decided to re-vamp the site. I'm super duper excited for this new design-- i was having major ish getting the old one to do what I wanted and I think I'm on the right track with this classhy facelift!

I am also adding limited advertising space on both of my sites through google AdSense in order to raise a little extra cash for recipe ingredients.
PLEASE, PLEASE take just a moment to visit my advertisers-- just one click gets me closer to sharing my next classhy creation!

Where the Hell ya been, lady?!
Found by Niall for me on the Interwebs.
Thanks, buddy.
There have recently been a few inquiries as to when Classy but Trashy will be updated again and I’m finally ready to address those concerns!

I chowed down on some
HUGE pretzels at
Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery
in California
Things have been a bit crazy around the Classhyverse over the past couple of months—settling into a new life out in the middle of the Pacific, trips back to the mainland, entertaining a trove of badical homie houseguests and tons of new  creative projects.
With all the excitement going on, as well as major shifts in the structure of my daily schedule, the format of Classy but Trashy has become unrealistic and is in need of reorganization.
That being said, things are still classhy as ever around here and I have been dying to share the fun! So, in order to streamline the blog while increasing the number of posts, I’m going to be relaxing the layout to be more of a journal rather than a highly structured trapper keeper of looming deadlines (which it was starting to feel like).

In keeping with this new simplified approach I have also added a Twitter account to the Classhy but Trashy and
Hella'waii Foodventures blog family!

Follow me @HellaClasshy  to get tweeterrific updates, tips, reviews and photos—as well as a place to share your own foodventures!

Thanks so much for your continued support and as always, any comments and/ or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Hey errrybody! Thanks for stopping by and Happy April Fool's Day-- I hope you all get got good at some point today! It's the first day of Classy but Trashy and I just wanted to remind y'all that there will be constant updates throughout the week. Today's info is a prologue of sorts- so come back often for the good stuff! Also, there are a couple tech glitches I'm working through so please bear with me if we're lookin' a little wonky.
See ya soon :)
Welcome to Classy but Trashy,
a food blog!

Within the pages of this blog you will find essays, stories, recipes and projects that illustrate my life straddling and blurring the not so thin line between gourmet cuisine and low brow chow.

Currently, I am living in San Francisco where I spend my time exploring the rich and delicious foodiverse around me. As a native Northern California girl, I’ve been lucky enough to grow up living and traveling around the world. Through these adventures, my experiences with many international “gourmet moments” have both defined my palate as well as broadened my view on what is considered classy vs trashy not just here at home, but the world over.

I’ve spent my lifetime combining these two seemingly disparate elements in ways that have been unexpected, oddly inspired and often sacrilegious. It is through the content of this blog that I hope to organize and further build on this concept through humor, experimentation and unwavering respect for both ends of the culinary spectrum. Come along as I challenge myself with monthly classhy recipe series, share family foodie anecdotes, muse about my favorite things to eat (including the places to eat them) and generally crack up in the face of culinary convention!

With today’s launch I have included an introduction to each of the sections that make up the content of Classy but Trashy. Over the course of the next week I will be continually updating with the first postings under each of the section titles. Check back often to get an idea of the sort of classhy fun there is in store for the future! After the initial week, expect postings to slow to a more regular pace of 2-3 pieces weekly.

As I am a brand new participant to the blogosphere, it can be guaranteed that there will be changes and schedule tweaks along the way… Please don’t hesitate to give any feedback you think might help—I’m here to learn!
Section Introductions

Classh Courses

Each month I will introduce a theme under which I will prepare a series of meals. Each of these challenges will incorporate classhy concepts and be accompanied by the various recipes, tips and techniques used. By exploring outside, inside and all around the box, I plan to continue nurturing the evolution of taste, influences and the approach to cooking. Project is designed to have one Classh Course posted per week of the month.

Somethin’ on a Plate

Everyone eats food. Hence, everyone has a collection of food related stories. Be they hilarious, heart warming or just plain horrifying, food lore is always a recipe for great conversation!
With “Somethin’ on a Plate,” I will be recounting many of the (in)famous food legends amongst my family and friends. As a means of illustration I will be reinterpreting each of these anecdotes with food, then sharing the results with others in order to keep that original memory alive as well as give it a whole new chapter!
In addition, I encourage anyone who would like to share one of their favorite food stories and see it revamped through classhy cooking to PLEASE SUBMIT!

Très Frugal

As every college student, single parent and generally anyone living in today’s economy knows… times are tough. Most of us working stiffs are living paycheck to paycheck as it is without the added stress of the cost of entertaining, going out to eat or buying that fabulous new contraption you saw in the Bill Sonoma window. Within Très Frugal, I’ll be sharing my tried and true tips for still living classy even though your budget is looking a little trashy.

Forks Up

Forks Up is a motley collection of essays, restaurant reviews and musings about food and events that shape the concepts within Classy but Trashy.
